Our Bodies, Our True Homes: Investing in Health Inside and Out (Part I)
This is Part 1 of a two-part series on health and self-care, but allow me to set the stage for you.

I've been on quite a journey lately.
This year, I've made a bold commitment to invest in my mental, physical, and emotional health. Since leaving the house that tipped the scale for our family and resulted in the whole family’s CIRS (Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome) diagnosis, my husband and I have focused most of our resources on our children’s recovery.
This year, we set the intention to allow some of that focus to come back to us, realizing that though we feel much better (no more daily headaches, rage, or extreme brain fog) we are ready to make more progress so we can optimize our own health to live out our best and most fulfilling purposes and help our kids get even further.
It only took us half the year to actually make any moves on this intention. It's been eye-opening, to say the least! No judgment.
I have to give my wonderful husband the credit here for leading by example. As he does, one day he simply DECIDED that he was done feeling suboptimal, so he undertook to change that.
First, he committed to getting back into a running routine and he set up our home gym to make workouts accessible and easier to achieve. He even began seeing a doctor he liked and paying attention to taking the supplements recommended for his body. To make it even more effective, he began tracking his diet and specifically focused on increasing his protein intake in support of the weightlifting routine he also implemented.
While he was quietly chipping away at taking care of himself, this expanded me to see that my lack of doing the same was also a choice.
By watching his example, I made the choice to do the same. You absolutely can find time and a way to do something when you commit to yourself. His commitment to himself inspired me to invest in myself as well. Thank you, my love.
I’ve started joining him in workouts after work with the goal of getting in at least 3 per week. Additionally, I invested in a business coach for female founders to help elevate me to the next level with Conscious Healthy Home, my primary focus being on time management and aligning my practice with my goals of helping more people navigate the healthy home journey. (DM me on this if that is guidance you feel you also need). Then, I made a point to focus on my energetic health, meaning refueling my internal, intrinsic energetic sources.
How does this relate to our home?
Consider this--you know, we often talk about our houses as our homes, but have you ever considered that our bodies are our most important homes?
Think about it – we live in them 24/7, and their health directly impacts every aspect of our lives. Just as we strive to maintain a healthy living environment in our houses, we need to prioritize the well-being of our body-homes.

Talk about a powerhouse woman who practices what she preaches has the mind-body connection down!
I’m not sure what I’m most looking forward to, honestly.
Meditation is a prayerful and transformative routine I have developed (thanks to Pascale who first introduced me to the practice). Who doesn’t love a good massage?
I find sound baths to be an excellent tool to reset the nervous system and you all know I love a good photoshoot, gourmet meals, quiet, fellowship.
Does it get any more nourishing than that?????
I challenge you to audit your day, find an hour and commit to doing something. If the retreat calls to you, join me! I’d love to meet you there.
Whatever you choose, when you make a commitment to yourself, that should be a promise that never gets broken and I promise you will see it pay off in dividends.
